War On The Streets Of America: Protesters Attack Police Officers In Major Cities All Over The Nation

Michael SnyderRe-Published From The Economic Collapse Blog

This is what a nation looks like when it starts melting down from within.  A series of very disturbing incidents of police brutality against young black males has caused a firestorm to erupt all across the country.  You would have thought that the massacre of police in Dallas would have caused everyone to step back and reflect on what is really causing this cycle of violence, but instead the nationwide protests have gotten even bigger and more intense.  Over the weekend, protesters attacked police with rocks, bricks, bottles, fireworks, chunks of concrete, Molotov cocktails and rebar from a construction site.  In return, police fired pepper spray, smoke bombs and tear gas at protesters.  As I write this, more than 200 protesters have been arrested over the weekend so far, and authorities are bracing for what the coming night will bring.

For so long, I have been specifically warning that this kind of civil unrest was coming, but I truly wish that it would have turned out that I was wrong.  As a nation, we need to learn to love one another no matter what we look like or where we are from, but instead a cycle of violence has begun that is going to be very hard to break.

On Saturday night, there was horrible violence against police in St. Paul, Minnesota.  That is where my father was originally from, and I remember visiting my grandmother in St. Paul many times.  Back in those days, I never would have imagined that someday we would see this kind of violence against law enforcement officers in the city…

At least five officers were injured by protesters — one hit with a glass bottle and another by fireworks, according to St. Paul police. One was hit on the head with a large piece of concrete, possibly dropped from a bridge, according to police.

Another officer had been hit in the head with a rock, though it is unclear the extent of the injuries. Police say a Molotov cocktail was thrown at officers.

Law enforcement used crowd-control measures, including smoke and fired marking rounds similar to paintball rounds, said police spokesman Steve Linders.

According to another report, protesters “were dropping 10lb concrete blocks on officers’ heads, throwing bricks at their heads and genitals, and lobbing Molotov cocktails.”

One of the officers that had a concrete block dropped on his head had his spine fractured.

There is absolutely no excuse for attacking police officers in this manner.

None whatsoever.

I want to share with you a series of tweets that were sent out by the St. Paul police during the attacks

As I have warned before, “a spirit of violence and civil unrest is rising in America“, and it wasn’t just in St. Paul that we saw these kinds of various dangerous attacks on police officers.

-In Baton Rouge, a police officer “had several of his teeth knocked out” after being hit by a projectile thrown by protesters.  But it could have been a lot worse.  According to the Daily Mail, law enforcement authorities confiscated “three rifles, three shotguns and two pistols” from the rioters.

-In Phoenix, protesters launched rocks and projectiles at police and many of them reportedly shouted “We should shoot you!

-In San Antonio, someone fired “multiple gunshots” at the San Antonio Police headquarters building on Saturday night…

Multiple gunshots were fired at the San Antonio Police headquarters building Saturday night, and police are seeking a suspect who was seen running from the area, SAPD Chief William McManus said.

The shots were fired just before 10 p.m. Saturday. There were no reports of injuries, but bullet marks were found on the exterior wall of the building, McManus said. Shell casings were discovered in a nearby alley.

The mainstream media would have us believe that the shooter in Dallas was a lone nut that acted alone, and that his behavior was not part of a larger trend.  But they completely ignored another mass shooting motivated by hate that occurred just hours before the shootings in Dallas…

Hours before a black Army veteran shot 12 officers at a Black Lives Matter protest in Dallas, another former Army soldier was accused of shooting indiscriminately at passing cars and police on a Tennessee highway.

And like the Dallas sniper, Lakeem Keon Scott said he was motivated to act in response to police violence against African-Americans, authorities said Friday.

One woman died and three others, including a police officer, were wounded Thursday morning in the Tennessee rampage, one of several spasms of violence across the country this week amid boiling tensions over policing and race.

And the incident in Dallas could have turned out to be far worse.  According to authorities in Dallas, Micah Johnson was found to have had bomb making materials in his home and “was planning a larger attack”

The gunman who killed five cops in Dallas was planning a larger attack but launched his assault early because the protest was too good an opportunity to miss, a police source said.

Veteran Micah Johnson went on the rampage with an AR-15 assault rifle and handgun on Thursday night, but left explosive material at home.

A law enforcement source told WFAA that Johnson was ‘planning something bigger’ but cut preparations short because he knew scores of police officers would man the Black Lives Matter protest.

At times like this, we desperately need strong leaders to step forward and calm everyone down.  Unfortunately, the great leaders of the past are long gone, and they have been replaced by politicians that are trying to figure out how they can best use this unrest for their own political advantage.

Instead of hating one another, we need to start loving one another.  Without love, our nation is going to die.

I wish that everyone in the country could be made to understand this, but unfortunately most Americans have chosen a different path, and now we will suffer the consequences.

Riots 3Police Officer Suffers Fractured Spine After Enraged Protester Drops Concrete Block On His Head

Michael SnyderRe-Published From End Of The American Dream Blog

The innocent police officers that are being brutally attacked during this “summer of chaos” are real people with real hopes and real dreams.  Just like you and I, they want to work hard, raise their families and make this country a better place.  But now many of them have had their dreams for the future absolutely shattered by mindless violence.  After the massacre that we just witnessed in Dallas, I can’t imagine how anyone could possibly think that it would be a good idea to drop a concrete block on the head of a police officer.  What in the world would cause someone to sink that low?  Sadly, that is precisely what happened over the weekend in St. Paul, Minnesota, and now that police officer is suffering from a fractured spine

Authorities say during the course of the protests on 94 and later, on Grand and Dale, 21 officers from multiple agencies suffered injuries. The injuries were primarily caused by fireworks, rocks, bricks, glass bottles and chunks of concrete that were directed at officers, some hitting them in the head. St. Paul Police said someone threw a Molotov cocktail at officers, as well.

On Sunday evening, St. Paul Police learned one of the officers injured last night had a large concrete block dropped on his head. That officer is now suffering from a spinal fracture.

I happen to agree that police brutality in America is way out of control.  This is something that I have been writing about for years.  When it comes to law enforcement in this country, we need a complete and total cultural shift.

But dropping a concrete block on a man’s head is not going to solve anything.  Now that man could potentially be crippled for life, and his entire family is going to suffer deeply.

What would cause a person to do such a thing?  Sadly, we don’t have to search far for an answer.  We have taken God out of our homes, our schools, our businesses, our news, our entertainment and our government, and instead our young people are being constantly fed messages that are filled with anger, frustration, division, bitterness, resentment and hatred.

Now we are watching the fruit of these decisions, and everyone seems so shocked.

It was an agenda of hate that had been deeply internalized that drove 25-year-old former Army reservist Micah Johnson to start gunning down police officers in Dallas, Texas just a couple of days ago.

But the people that he was gunning down did not deserve to be shot.  In fact, we are learning some remarkable things about these particular officers.  For example, officer Lorne Ahrens actually bought dinner for a homeless man the day before he was ruthlessly murdered

There was a lot of Lorne Ahrens to love.

His size — 6-foot-5, 300 pounds —could intimidate, but his character was kindness.

The day before Ahrens, 48, was killed, he bought a homeless man dinner and encouraged fellow officers to greet the man, Jorge Barrientos, another Dallas police officer who was wounded, told the Dallas Morning News.

Ahrens volunteered, in uniform, at the school his 8-year-old and 10-year-old attended, said his mother-in-law, Karen Buckingham.

And Patrick Zamarripa had served three tours in Iraq before joining the force in Dallas…

Patrick Zamarripa had an urge to serve — first in the Navy, where his family said he did three tours in Iraq, then back home in Texas as a Dallas police officer.

“He went over there (to Iraq) and didn’t get hurt at all, and he comes back to the states and gets killed,” his father, Rick Zamarripa, told The Associated Press by phone Friday.

Unfortunately, this is the kind of thing that starts happening when a nation becomes lawless.  When people lose faith that the system will provide them with justice, then they start taking the law into their own hands.

Our country still has hope if we turn back to God….these officer’s pray before hitting the streets.

But when the rule of law breaks down, things rapidly revert to the law of the jungle.  Karl Denninger put this very well in one of his recent articles

Let me start with this: Why do drug dealers shoot each other on street corners?

Answer: Joe the drug dealer cannot call the cops and tell them that Jack the drug dealer ripped him off and sold him a bag of oregano instead of weed.  Joe also can’t sue Jack.  Thus, when the threshold of his tolerance is crossed Joe has only the use of direct force available to him because he has no recourse to the law to settle his dispute with Jack.

The FIRST foundation of civil society is The Rule of Law.  Without it there is literally nothing other than the Law of the Jungle, commonly known as “he who has the biggest teeth (or the most guns) and is willing to use them first wins.”

As a society, we desperately need to find leaders that will begin the painful process of restoring faith in our deeply, deeply broken system.

And as a society, we desperately need to learn how to start loving one another no matter what we look like and no matter where we are from.

If we do not learn how to love one another, our country will surely die.  And no, I am not being overly dramatic when I say that.

Unfortunately, I believe that what we have seen so far is probably just the tip of the iceberg, and our government apparently feels the same way that I do.  The following comes from Martin Armstrong

The Federal government is arming every agency from the IRS to the State Department for domestic purposes. This is clearly a response to what they know is coming. There is no question that they are preparing for an uprising. They know that socialism is collapsing. Rather than reform the political economy, they are digging in their heels and getting ready to fight the civilian population. Many are starting to investigate this very unusual trend. This is very alarming. They are watching Europe and know any trend that starts there, always come here — not just fashion.

We all need to start praying a lot more than we have been, and one of the things that we should be praying for is peace in our nation.

We are getting very close to a “tipping point” after which events could potentially spiral completely out of control.

This cycle of violence is going to be very hard to stop, but it must be broken.

We must learn how to forgive one another, love one another and work with one another to heal this country.

The alternative is to continue on the path that we are currently on, and that is almost too horrible to contemplate.

Michael T. Snyder One of the most common questions I get asked is this: “Who are you?” Well, I would rather let the issues take center stage, but I don’t mind telling you a little bit about myself. My name is Michael and I am just a regular guy who is married to one of the most wonderful women in the world. I have an undergraduate degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia and I have a law degree from the University of Florida law school. I also have an LLM from the University of Florida law school. I once worked for some of the largest law firms in Washington D.C., but now I mostly focus on trying to make a difference in the world. I am the author of all of the articles on the Economic Collapse Blog, and End of The American Dream Blog. I put a lot of work into these articles, and it means a lot that so many people out there enjoy them. I do not belong to a political party. In fact, I rip both the Democrats and the Republicans pretty good. I am a very strong Christian, but I believe that most of the churches in America have gotten way off track. I believe that God is raising up Christians that will do things the way that the first Christians did things. I am also a writer, a speaker and an activist. Someone once told me that life is like a coin – you can spend it any way that you want, but you can only spend it once. I believe that this is going to be one of the most dramatic eras in all of human history and I want my life to have meaning and purpose. Almost everyone will find something in my articles that will deeply upset them. That is okay. I am a truthseeker. I just call it like I see it. If you disagree with me on some issues I will not be offended. I hope that you will not be offended if I disagree with you on some issues. Even though I write about a lot of heavy issues, one of the most important things to me is love. If we want to make it through the times that are coming we have got to start learning how to love one another. The world is becoming a very cold, cruel place. It sure could use a lot more love. Well, I am a Bible-believing Christian. Unfortunately, most people do not know what Biblical Christianity is these days. For a detailed explanation of what I believe, please see my statement of faith. Some of you may not even know about the God of the Bible or that He sent his Son to die on the cross for your sins. The truth is that the God of the universe loves you very much and He wants to have a relationship with you. Unfortunately, humanity has rebelled against God. The Scriptures tell us that we all have violated God’s laws and that we all have sinned against Him. We stand guilty before the judge of the universe. God could not ignore our sins, but He still wanted to have a relationship with us. So God sent His only Son to die on the cross to pay the price for the sins of all humanity. If you will repent of your sins and invite Jesus Christ into your life right now, your sins will be forgiven and you will be given eternal life.
