~ Ezekiel 37 a Prophecy of symbols rather than a vision to be understood literally! We know this because the valley Ezekiel was brought to had no name given, meaning it wasn’t a literal place, just a vision! However, we believe this to be the Kidron Valley because it too lies in a valley! In order to glean more information from this vision we need to first define the symbols being employed.

~ We will give you the symbolic meanings of some key words first, so that you will still have those meanings fresh on your mind when you read through Ezekiel 37. The symbolism will then jump out at you much like, how Ezekiel himself may have perceived it.

~ First we need to break down a few word meanings as defined in scripture; “VALLEY”

~ Isaiah said prophetically that every valley will be exalted and every mountain made low;

ISAIAH 40:4 – Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places made plain!

~ In the Scriptures, Dryness represents spiritual separation from Yahuah. Spiritual Dryness represents those quenching thirst from Yahuah’s Fountain of Living Waters!

~ One of the two names of the Mountain upon which Moses received the Law from Yahuah, is ‘HOREB’, which actually means, ‘DRY PLACE’.

~ The root-verb חרב (hareb I) means to dry up, be in ruins, lay waste. … The adjective חרב (hareb), meaning dry (Leviticus 7:10, Proverbs 17:1) or desolate (Jeremiah 33:10, Nehemiah 2:3). The masculine noun חרב (Horeb), meaning dryness (Genesis 31:40, Judges 6:37),

~ Also note that the word ‘Torah’ comes from a verb that also yields the word for ‘Rain’. The Israelites received Torah (rain) from Horeb (in a dry place).

PSALM 105:41 – He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed like a river in the desert.

~ Coincidently, another place that means “Dry Place” is Zion, which is also a mountain! On the Biblical canvass, the name Zion means ‘Dry Place’. ‘Jones’ Dictionary’ of Old Testament Proper Names reads ‘Very Dry’.

~ In Torah, a person who touches a Grave or Bones was considered “Tumah” Unclean (Num 19:16-18).

NUMBERS 19:16 – And whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a Bone of a man, or a Grave, shall be “Tumah” Unclean seven days!

~ Thus almost all burials took place outside the city except for certain kings!

Ezekiel Prophesies that Judah will never again defile Yahuah’s name with the corpses of their kings! The grave became a metaphor for human depravity!

~ Paul quotes Psalm 5:9 (“their throat is an open grave”) as part of his scriptural basis of people under sin (Romans 3:13-18). Messiah compares the Pharisees in his day to whitewashed tombs that are beautiful on the outside but “full of dead men’s Bones and everything Unclean” on the inside (Matt 23:27). They were only outwardly righteous!

~ A poor translation in Ezekiel 37:9 is revealed; The word for ‘WIND’ is actually “RUACH”.

EZEKIEL 37:9 – Then said He unto me, Prophesy unto the ‘WIND’, Prophesy, son of man, and say to the ‘WIND’, Thus saith Yahuah Aluahym; Come from the four ‘WINDS’, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

~ Corrected Translation Below;

EZEKIEL 37:9 – Then said He unto me, Prophesy unto the ‘Spirit’, Prophesy, son of man, and say to the ‘Spirit’, Thus saith Yahuah Aluahym; Come from the four ‘Winds’, O’ Spirit, and blow upon these slain, that they may live! ~ Wind; ר֫וּחַ Strongs #7307. Ruach: Breath, Wind, Holy Spirit.

EZEKIEL 37:1-14 – The Hand of Yahuah was upon me, and carried me out in the Spirit, and set me down in the midst of the Valley which was full of Bones,

2) And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very Dry!

3) And He said unto me, son of man, can these Bones live? And I answered, O’ Yahuah Aluahym, thou knowest.

4) Again He said unto me, Prophesy upon these Bones, and say unto them, “O you Dry Bones”, hear the Word of Yahuah.

5) Thus says Yahuah Aluahym unto these Bones; Behold, I will cause Spirit to enter into you, and you shall live:

6) And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put Spirit in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Almighty.

7) So I Prophesied as I was commanded: and as I Prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the Bones came together, Bone to his Bone.

8) And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them!

9) Then said He unto me, Prophesy unto the ‘Spirit’, Prophesy, son of man, and say to the ‘Spirit’, Thus saith Yahuah Aluahym; Come from the four ‘WINDS’, O’ Spirit, and blow upon these slain, that they may live!

10) So I Prophesied as He commanded me, and the Spirit came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

11) Then He said unto me, Son of man, these Bones are the whole ‘House of Israel’: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.

12) Therefore Prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith Yahuah Aluahym; Behold, O’ my people, I will open your Graves, and cause you to come up out of your Graves, and bring you into the Land of Israel.

13) And you shall know that I am Yahuah, when I have opened your Graves, O’ my people, and brought you up out of your Graves,

14) And shall put My Spirit in you, and you shall Live, and I shall place you in your own Land: then shall you know that I Yahuah have spoken it, and performed it, says Yahuah. ________________________________________

AMOS 9:14-15 – And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.15) And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall ‘NO MORE’ be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith Yahuah thy Aluahym!

~ Northern Israel was removed from their Land in 721 B.C under Judgment from Yahuah for their spiritual whoredom and uncleanliness!

~ In Ezekiel 36, Yahuah said He would bring back the House of Israel to the Land, but not because of their sakes and cleanliness, but for His Name sake!

EZEKIEL 36:22-27 – Therefore say unto the House of Israel, thus says Yahuah Aluahym; I do not this for your sakes, O’ House of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the heathen, whither you went.

23) And I will sanctify My great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which you have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the Most High, says Yahuah Aluahym, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes!

24) For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25) Then will I sprinkle ‘CLEAN WATER’ upon you, and you shall be Clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I Cleanse you!

26) A new Heart also will I give you, and a new Spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27) And I will put My spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep my judgments, and do them!

~ Clean Water will be sprinkled in a Dry Place, the Northern House of Israel, “The Dry Bones!”

JEREMIAH 31:38-40 – Behold, the Days come, saith Yahuah, that the city shall be built to Yahuah from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.

39) And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath.

40) And the whole Valley of the Dead Bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the Brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be Holy unto Yahuah; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more forever!

~ Before Joseph died, he gave instruction to the children of Israel to ‘REMEMBER HIS BONES’ when Yahuah redeems the children of Israel from Egypt.

~ In Genesis 50:24-26 it is written:

GENESIS 50:24 -26 – And JOSEPH SAID UNTO HIS BRETHREN, I die: and Yahuah will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the Land which He sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

25) And Joseph took an oath of the Children of Israel, saying, Yahuah will surely visit you, and ye shall ‘CARRY UP MY BONES’ from hence.

26) So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt!

~ In Exodus 13:19 it is written:

EXODUS 13:19 – And MOSES TOOK THE BONES OF JOSEPH with him: for he had straightly sworn the children of Israel, saying, Yahuah will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you! ________________________________________

“JOSEPH’S BONES ARE BURIED IN SHECHEM” (The West Bank Today)

~ When the children of Israel went into the promised land, they carried the bones of Joseph with them and buried his bones in Shechem (Nablus) in the West Bank (mountains of Israel). In Joshua 24:1, 32 it is written:

JOSHUA 24:1 – And Joshua gathered all the Tribes of Israel to SHECHEM, and called for the elders of Israel, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before Yahuah.

JOSHUA 24:32 – And the BONES OF JOSEPH, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in SHECHEM, in a parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Joseph. ________________________________________

~ The Shepherd of Israel (Messiah) was Prophesied to lead Joseph (the house of Joseph) like a flock. The Bible identifies Yahusha as being the “Good Shepherd”.

~ In John 10:10, Messiah says:

JOHN 10:11 – I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep!

PSALM 80:1 {To the chief Musician upon Shoshannimeduth, A Psalm of Asaph.} – Give ear, O’ Shepherd of Israel, thou that leads Joseph like a flock … ________________________________________

~ When a mother (Rachel) witnesses hardship that happens to her son (the desecration of Joseph’s tomb) most mothers are usually in tears. Rachel (the mother of Joseph) is Prophesied to WEEP for HER CHILDREN (the house of Joseph) and she is REFUSED to be COMFORTED because of their calamity.

~ In Jeremiah 31:15 it is written:

JEREMIAH 31:15 – Thus saith Yahuah; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not. ________________________________________

~ Rachel gets comforted by a Prophetic Promise of when her children will return to their border (the mountains of Israel). This is the Messianic redemption / Ingathering of the exiles or the restoration of both houses of Israel. ~ In Jeremiah 31:16-17 it is written:

JEREMIAH 31:16-17 – Thus says Yahuah; REFRAIN your voice FROM WEEPING, and your eyes from tears: for your work shall be rewarded, says Yahuah; and they shall come again from the LAND OF THE ENEMY.

17) And THERE IS HOPE in your end, says Yahuah, that Your CHILDREN shall come again to their OWN BORDER! (the mountains of Israel / West Bank Today etc).

“OVERCOMING THE HOUSE OF ESAU” (ISLAM – EDOMITES)

~ JUDAH CANNOT OVERCOME ESAU UNTIL the HOUSE OF JOSEPH becomes a FLAME in the Battle!

~ In Obadiah verse 21 it says:

OBADIAH 1:17 – But upon MOUNT ZION shall be DELIVERANCE, and there shall be holiness; and the House of Jacob shall possess their (Esau) possessions. 18) And the House of Jacob shall be a Fire, and the HOUSE OF JOSEPH A FLAME, and the HOUSE OF ESAU FOR STUBBLE, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the House of Esau; for Yahuah hath spoken it!

~ NOT UNTIL the House of Joseph becomes a FLAME and a FIRE and JOINS with the House of Judah in ‘UNITY’ can the House of ESAU finally get defeated and become STUBBLE!

~ In order for this to happen, the BONES OF JOSEPH MUST LIVE AGAIN!!!!

EZEKIEL 37:10 – So I Prophesied as He commanded me, and the Spirit came into them (House of Israel), and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an “EXCEEDING GREAT ARMY!” ________________________________________

~ The Tomb of Joseph has been desecrated. The enemy is showing distaste for the Bones of Joseph coming ALIVE so he has used his pawns in the natural world (the PLO in the West Bank) to URINATE on the Bones of Joseph.

~ Is the HOUSE OF JOSEPH OUTRAGED that the Tomb of their Father has been desecrated? Can the bones of Joseph live? ~ In Ezekiel 37:1-3, 9-12 it is written:

EZEKIEL 37:1-3 – The hand of Yahuah was upon me, and carried me out in the Spirit of the Yahuah, and set me down in the midst of the Valley which was full of Bones,

3) And He said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live?

EZEKIEL 37:9-12 – Then said He unto me, Prophesy unto the Spirit, Prophesy, son of man, and say to the Spirit, Thus saith Yahuah Aluahym; Come from the four winds, O’ Spirit, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

10) So I Prophesied as He commanded me, and the Spirit came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

11) Then He said unto me, Son of man, these Bones are the ‘WHOLE’ HOUSE OF ISRAEL: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. (Ephraim’s ancient land was where the West Bank is today)

12) Therefore Prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith Yahuah Aluahym; Behold, O’ My people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the Land of Israel.

~ In Ezekiel’s day Israel was divided into two Kingdoms! That being Northern Israel and Southern Judah. In Chapter 37, Yahuah is telling Ezekiel that Ephraim will return to the northern parts of the Nation of Israel! Meaning, This Prophecy is telling us that the West Bank will be annexed and reclaimed by the nation of Israel. ________________________________________

~ The WHOLE House of Israel is the House of Joseph / Ephraim and the House of Judah.

~ In Ezekiel 37:15-19 it is written:

EZEKIEL 37:15-19 – The Word of Yahuah came again unto me, saying,

16) Moreover, thou son of man, take thee ONE STICK, and write upon it, For JUDAH, and for the Children of Israel his companions (Benjamin, Levi): then take ANOTHER STICK, and write upon it, For JOSEPH, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the House of Israel his companions (includes Grafted Gentiles):

17) And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.

18) And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these?

19) Say unto them, Thus says Yahuah Aluahym; Behold, I will take the Stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the Stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand!

~ Meaning Israel will no longer be two kingdoms in the Last Days, but one whole Nation of people…. ________________________________________

~ The descendents of Joseph are now in the nations of the world (including their bones in graves). However, Yahuah said that the House of Joseph would become a Flame and the WIND (Hebrew word is Ruach HaKodesh) would BLOW on them bones and cause them to come alive (to follow Righteousness, Torah, the Sabbath, the Biblical Festivals, love Jerusalem, Judah and the land of Israel) and would cause them to return to the Land.

~ In Ezekiel 37:12, 21-22 it is written:

EZEKIEL 37:12 – Therefore Prophesy and say unto them, Thus says Yahuah Aluahym; Behold, O’ my people, I will OPEN YOUR GRAVES, and cause you to come up out of your graves, “AND” bring you into the Land of Israel. (as you can see their graves were outside of the land of Israel)

EZEKIEL 37:21-22 – And say unto them, Thus says Yahuah Aluahym; Behold, I will take the Children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will “GATHER” them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

22) And I will make them One Nation in the Land upon the MOUNTAINS OF ISRAEL …

~ With these words, Comfort, Comfort, my people saith Yahuah as it comforted Rachel, as it is written in Isaiah 40:1 to the VOICE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS (the SPIRIT of ELIJAH) to PREPARE the WAY OF YAHUAH (the coming of King Messiah).

ISAIAH 40:1 – Comfort ye, comfort ye My people, says your Alauhym!
